Community self-help basis Initiative taken by Women in Bostan to empower oppressed women through the entrepreneurial skill and create a viable human resource to cope with social economic imbalance. The project successfully accomplished with in three month and 25 women trained in trade of tailoring. At the end of project certification distribution ceremony held at SEHER Field Office where representatives of community institution and stakeholder participate and praise-acknowledge the SEHER’s extra ordinary efforts.

ILAC Coordination Meeting with UNHCR and its IP’s

ILAC (Information and Legal Assistance Center) is CRS (Catholic Relief Services) funded project working for Registered Afghan Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Baluchistan since 2002. ILAC provides free legal information (through Outreach activities, Media and Client intakes) and free legal Assistance (in the court of law in Foreigners Act and Civil Cases) to Afghan Refugees. ILAC engages HCVs (Host Community Volunteers) to support Afghan Refugees who are illegally arrested.

A Coordination meeting was done by ILAC-Loralai at Katwai & Ghazgai Minara, in which the officials of UNHCR and it IP’s took part, the agenda of that coordination meeting was to know the problems/challenges of refugees and solution of those problems/challenges, and to send cases to concern department (if identified).

  

 

SEHER Show cased itself at LUMS Interns Fair

SEHER participated in the Interns Fair organized by LUMS with the support of USAID-ASP in February 2014. It was a great opportunity for SEHER to present its work in Lahore through its publications and information material. SEHER organized a stall where information regarding SEHER’s thematic areas , work with Government and the communities. LUMS’ students exhibited great interest in SEHER’s work .

Capacity Building of Youth

September 2013. Society for Empowering Human Resource training cell conducted 4 days capacity building training of young leaders of future. Active Citizens links civil society networks, community leaders and community networks in Pakistan, the world to deepen trust and understanding within and between communities. Participants become skilled in cross cultural communication and dialogue, and its effective role in community action.

The journey of Active Citizens from SEHER started in 2012 by developing the knowledge, skills and attitude required to engage in dialogue and social participation. Skills are developed at two levels –Partnership and Youth development. Young leaders then engage with their local communities through community engagement projects. Partner organizations, local government and community influencers support these young leaders through mentoring, access to resources and technical support. The 55 youth of several collages & high schools took part in training with zeal and activism.

The youth developed almost 19 projects on different themes, as in detail 3 skill centers for the women, 7 educational projects for poor children as like English language, free tuition classes & free admissions in private schools of some poor children of different communities. 2 projects of health providing free medicines, keeping in view the earth quick at Dist Awaran of Baluchistan few projects developed for collection of provisions for effected people of awaran due to earth quick.
