The Gender Equity Program aims at addressing the issues related to gender Pakistan through mainstreaming and enhancing the role of women. The program meant to facilitate behavioral change in society by enabling women to access information, possessions in institutions, and improve societal attitudes towards women's rights. SEHER undertook this intervention for women to encounter all forum of violations being occur against them. Being Provincial Grantee, SEHER's task to monitor and extend its technical support to four district allies/NGOs for addressing gender issues. While at same time also initiated Provincial/policy level intervention such as 16 days of activism, International Women Day, Pakistani Women Day, lobbying/advocacy with legislators and policy dialog with policy makers to further generate wide spread support for the districts allies/NGOs and their grass root initiatives. SEHER also initiated awareness campaign on gender related issues through press conferences, walks, rallies,painting competition at Universities levels , FM radio/TV programs and IEC material. While to gage the effects of its advocacy lobbying and awareness campaign as well as the initiative taken to district allies/NGOs SEHER has installed complaint boxes in university, community and public places which has resulted in overwhelming number of cases of gender and women rights violation issues which were accordingly responded.
